On tap at Bar volo. A lot of bitterness, more of an understated IPA than a American pale where I expect more citrus flavour. Not complex. Appreciate the lower a.b.v. Light orange colour, a quarter inch of retained head. Average mouthfeel. Solid offering nevertheless.Decent hop aromas.

I'm adding this as an APA because the bartender told me it was a single hop pale ale. Saphir hops are German, but there is no German Pale Ale category. Shared a growler of this at Easter dinner. Pours an amber-orange colour with a finger of thick white head. Aroma of citrus and earthy hops with some bready malt. Some bitterness in the flavour, but there is more sweetness than I expected. Nice balance with this beer. I had never tried this hop variety before (that I'm aware of at least), so this was interesting to try.
