May this be the steed for those not content to fawn at the feet of mammon or cower as vassal to their wretched deceit. Brewed with reverence for tradition and loathing for those who abuse it, our Russian Imperial Stout is tank-aged for one full year and serves warning to those whose uppance shall come.

22oz bottle. No bottling date information found.
Black colored body, with medium brown back lit edge. One finger of tan head; this disappears and leaves an active bubbly surface. No lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts, dark fruit, and caramel.
Taste follows with dark roasted malts (definite chocolate), dark cherry, and molasses. Has a woody note. Not much for an aftertaste.
Thinner mouth feel. Decent carbonation.
Tasty higher ABV% RIS, but nothing earth shaking.

Right, so compared to the bourbon version, this tastes more like a stout would, with dark chocolate, a bit of milk chocolate, light earth, medium heavy body with a slightly roasty finish. This beer has a fair bit of depth that seems to be lost in the bourbon barrel treatment, but at the same time, it tastes more like a stout than the barrel aged version, if that makes sense. Not my favourite and I think I'll have to pass on these Ale Asylum beers in the future.
