Golden in color with a bouquet of fruit and spice, this Belgian style Tripel has a touch of sweetness and a crisp, euphoric finish.

Poured from a can into a tulip. Hoppy, yeasty, crisp, boozy, bittersweet. Not terribly complex or interesting, but drinkable enough. RIP Ale Asylum; I found this beer at Riley's Wines of the World in Madison, WI.

6-pack from Woodman’s in Madison, poured into pint glass at Durango condo. Oh my goodness. Nailed it. Yeast, spice, strong, eminently drinkable.

THE most disgusting beer I've ever drank. It had the aroma and taste of some kind of smoked, potted meat. Absolutely atrocious. Extremely disappointed!

As with many Ale Asylum beers, the dominant sweetness is a big detraction. What Belgium is able to achieve in terms of boozy Tripels that somehow remain light and crisp is missing. The right flavors are here - a general mix of fruit and spice - but the alcohol heat and syrupy sweetness detract.

An outstanding Belgian style triple that finishes on a sweet note. Perfectly hopped, strong, and beautiful, this is a beer you don't want to miss.
