Felt like it was trying to be a beer/wine/liqueur all at once and the favors couldn't quite clarify themselves on my palate. A very interesting try. Had on tap at Brass Tap.

Had on tap. Interesting take. Perhaps a hybrid of english and american? Hoppy and barley snarl, but after a liqueur like sweetness at the start. Bright brown with no head at all. Enjoyable but felt caught in the middle.

something about a barleywine without a name, like, no need to say anything else, just barleywine is sufficient, like an understatement about such a robust beer, this one is certainly worthy. deeply caramel colored and thick looking in the glass, rich lathery head like a tan bubble bath, and strong notes of toffee and sherry and booze hit me right in the face. some brown sugar and brandy nuance to this, some english type bready yeast in nose and taste too, but also somewhat hoppy as they go, obviously borrowing from both english and american traditions here, blending the best parts of both quite well. just so malty here, caramel and butterscotch and honey, long boiled and concentrated and heavy, but so appealing all the way through, it opens up a lot as it warms, but it also gets super boozy, almost too much so at temperature, but i kind of like that in this style. a little oxidation at the end, but that doesnt bother me in one of their either. i have not had nearly enough beer from these guys, every time i get into one i love it. need more! this is a great example of the style at its most robust.
