Pours deep brown, nearly black. Foamy 2 finger tall head, decreasing fast with no lacing. Smells roasted malts, minerals, lemon, caramel, candies. Sweet, tastes roasted malts, caramel, spices. Full-bodied and well carbonated but feels too boozy. All in all not bad.

I stumbled across this brew in one of Moscow's many train stations as I was seeing off some friends. Interesting 33 cl brown bottle shaped like a cone and sporting a fairly plain label around the neck. I was disappointed to see sugar listed as an ingredient, and intrigued that wheat replaced barley in the malt. The expiration date was 11/11/03, I opened it on 8/12.
Poured a very nice dark brown liquid under a bubbly reddish-tan head that disappeared way to quickly. No lace. The nose is very strong - malt, caramel, fruits. The mouth was slightly heavy, too sweet, and carbonated just about right. The initial taste was pure caramel, chased later by heavy malt, coffee and chocolate, with just a touch of plum. There is a nice hoppy finish, with much more of the plum taste, joined by raisins. The fruit tends to overpower the hops in the aftertaste, leaving more sweet than bitter in the mouth. Not a bad beer, but not great, either.
