Comes in a standard brown half-liter bottle with the usual Afanasy metallic silver label featuring the viking style sailboat. Rice and sugar are ingredients. Best before 1/25/04, I opened it on 11/27/03 - beer #3 on Thanksgiving Day.
Pours a clear deep orangish gold under a very thin bubbly head that disappears in no time at all. Completely disappears. The nose is sweet and somewhat fruity, with a hint of alcohol. The mouth is very prickly and light. The opening features plum and alcohol, with a slightly harsh hop finish. The aftertaste is sweet and bitter. This is a fairly drinkable rendition of a Russian strong lager, but that's not saying much.
