22 Oz bottle. No bottling info

Pours a solid copper body, with a white head that dissipated quickly.Tiny l amount of thin lacing. No carbonation observed.

Smell is a very faint mix of malt and pine that is somewhat malt forward.

Taste is horrible ! I could try to accurately describe it but obviously somethings wrong here (infected?). A bad aftertaste that lingered like a call girl that won't leave in the morning...

Again something has gone horribly wrong here, Little to no carbonation .

Value (does not effect score) This was a gift but because it's so bad it's a poor value at any price.

Overall; As much as I want to give the brewer a mulligan on this one... Someone I love paid good money for this abomination. This review was GENEROUS. Infected batch ? poor distribution ? Not my problem.. Get your act together Hood Canal Brewing. Then again, Don't bother . I won't be back...

A: Poured a burnt orangish color with good carbonation leaving a nice white cap, some decent lacing and bubbles hang out for a while.

S: Big bittering orange peel, grapefruit and light spice

T: An abrasive bitterness with pine, grapefruit and orange peel wreck the palate upfront, not in a good way, then it slightly tapers off leaving a lasting bitterness and light spice, toast and grains.

M: Well carbonated, medium body but not to pleasant.

O: Not the worse IPA ever but not the best. The assertive bittering on the front is obnoxious and the taste overall is less than appealing.

1 Pint, 6 FL OZ. bottle into tulip glass.

A - Pours golden, with a nice thick white head...- some good lacing.

S - Hops and lots of sweet citrus - some orange & grapefruit tones...

T - Yuck! A hint of hops, followed by a huge spice kick that turns into a spicy/soap combo...weird!!

M - OK carbonation... There is 'NO' balance in this beer... The hop/limmited fruit/and spice combos just don't work...

O - This one is NOT great... I think the beer's name is about the only cool name, with the scenic photo of Dabob Bay WA...but nothing really positive to say about the beer...bummer!!

Appearance. Pours a nice amber-orange with a little haze and a big, sticky light-yellow head. Head lasts a while and leaves some nice thick lacing.

Smell. Sweet malt, some tart apple and horse-barn funk.

Taste. Bitter herbal hops, some sour apple, a little musky funk. Not what I was expecting. Perhaps a bad bottle?

Mouthfeel. Thin with some prickly medium carbonation.

Drinkability. Not a great drinker. Way too funky and sour for the style making me think I'm drinking bad beer.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: rich, hazy medium orange hue with lots of apparent effervescence. Head poured three thick fingers of pillowy ivory foam. Pretty good in my book.

Smell: sweet malt aroma with a nicely complex hop profile. I get floral notes, some funk, and a strong, bitey citrus and pine aroma that is almost over the top. It's a bit extreme, but I can appreciate its merits.

Actually, as I slowly drink through this beer, the aroma is really starting to grate on me in a bad way. Not good.

Taste: whoa. The floral notes and strong, bitey, piney citrus that were so nice in the aroma turn into a tart, haranguing sour citrus flavor with some soapy notes. Man, I was going to say "it's not that bad", but after a few more sips I don't think I can. I feel like the brewer was trying to go into a new and exciting direction but ended up pointed the wrong way. This is just a craft beer gone pretty badly wrong.

Mouthfeel: medium, medium-light body with an OK level of carbonation. Feel is good, despite the crazy flavor.

Drinkability: this flavor is just an absolute mess. Hoppy, certainly, but it's much crazier than any other IPA I've ever had. Bizarre flavors and extreme imbalance make this beer less-than-drinkable. Not bad enough for a drainpour, but uff da. Get it together, Hood Canal!

The more of this I drink, the nastier it gets. I'm not certain I've ever poured most of a bomber down the drain, but I think Dabob Bay IPA will get this distinction. Just plain too nasty to finish. Sorry, guys.

As other reviewers have previously noted, there's something funky going on with this brew. Pours prettily enough, and I was loving the hoppy-clove smell, but man, what's up with the taste? I like the "Absorbine Jr. and Band-Aids" description below, and I'll stick with that. Next beer shop, I'll be sure to stay out of the pharmacy aisle...

22oz bottle.

Pours dark copper with a half inch head of tight beige. Retention is decent with some mild lacing and a solid skim coat throughout the glass.

Aromatics are seriously piney with shades of Lysol and cherries. Hints of cat piss and grapefruit pith are there as well.

Medium bodied with a very crisp, prickly mouthfeel.

Light malt, tart cherries, and Pine-Sol start the palate. Grapefruit and spruce sap follow though.

Finishes with a lingering tartness, drying grapefruit, and a medicinal astringency.

What an odd beer. Probably infected and loaded with ammonia undertones.

A: Pours with a small-to-average sized, off-white head. Body is a dark amber color, and very hazy.

S: Aroma is ok, but nothing spectacular. The hops are there, but they're pretty weak for an IPA... there's as much malty sweetness as there is hops.

T: And hey, the taste is very mild for an IPA, too. It tastes as malty as it does hoppy... this balance may be more suited for an amber or an APA, but it doesn't really work for an IPA.

M: Light-bodied, yet creamy, with soft carbonation.

D: It's not a bad beer, really, but it's just too weak for its class, and comes off kind of odd, if anything.

Found at local beer store (Bottleworks).

A- Poured in my trusty tulip glass. Looks a dirty golden brownish color. Good head with some sticky lace.

S- Good ol' grapefruit and orange peel. Fairly light compared to some IPA's. Nothing comes out as too exciting in this brew so far.

T- Piney hops is there and I would say just right for your average IPA. The nose is in the taste so there is the grapefruit and tart citrus taste.

M- Goes down with a slight bubbly alcoholic bite. The hops stick to the tongue and hang out for a while.

D- Overall, not a bad beer. The reviews thus-far have been fairly low. I would say that this isn't the best IPA ever but definitely not bad at all. I would get it again next year.

pours a semi-hazy amber-orange with a very large off-white head, and good lacing.

smell of light grapefruit, some sweet fruit, a little orange peel, a little caramel, and some pine.

taste is on the fizzy, sweet, pink grapefruit, lots of hops, a little pine, orange peel, and a touch metallic, ends over carbonated and bitter.
