Billed as a slightly bigger, hoppier version of the orginal. My wonderful server (they are super friendly here, one of the reasons I love this place, along with the nachos) informed me it was dry-hopped with centennials.
Served in a shaker, Mighty Tacoma V2 is pale bronze with a very creamy eggshell head that leaves some heavy lace.
Smell is slightly hoppier, some pungency, but not a ton, a little cat pee. There's a mustiness that I could do without, but then again, I'm not a huge fan of centennials.
Taste is pretty good, the pungency of the hops definitely tempers the sweeter, citrus like BdG vibe I got from v1, making it more like a very smooth, malty IPA. The bitterness is a bit strong for my taste, but interestingly, it's more mid-palate, and doesn't linger.
Mouthfeel is very smooth, a bit dry and spicy, some slickness from the hop oils.
Drinkability is pretty good, a nice little ale, the soft smoothness is the most remarkable thing about it. Honesty though, I like the original version better - this has the body to be a hop bomb, but just cranking up some centennials didn't get it there, and it lost the citrus.
