Apparently this was the "barrel aged Scotch ale" on tap in September 2013. Rated at 5.5% ABV. Clear auburn color in the tulip. An all-too-brief foam. The beer itself is virtually flat. There is an aroma of grape juice.
This tastes like a Long Island iced tea with a dose of Concord grapes. Light bodied in spite of the barrel flavors. It still tastes more like grape than whiskey, but as it warms there is just a hint of smokey malt.
Overall, there is a hint of dishwater and fruit punch that is less beery than you might wish for. Seems to have little to do with the Scottish brewing traditions. A flattened-out and unappealing oddity. On tap at the Harmon's restaurant.

A: Poured a transparent golden color with good carbonation leaving a medium dirty white cap, some bubbles and minimal lacing
S: Pretty simplistic. Caramel sweetness and loads of sugar.
T: Taste is very sweet upfront, sticky even with a little bit of peat and I mean a little bit and then we head back to more caramel, toffee stickiness and sugar. The taste leaves a lingering bitterness and sweetness which is unwelcoming
M: The body and carbonation are on but the finish on this beer and the feel of it are just to sweet and abrasive
O: Average across the board but I won't be going back to this one
