The colour is dark copper-amber; the finger thick head pale brown head is airy. No lacing.

The smell is weak; there is some smoked-roasted malt though.

Smoked malty flavours dominates the taste, the taste is dry. There is a growing, rather neutral bitterness (some citric notes) and some yeasty sour flavours. Aftertaste is dry, bitter with notes of smoked ham.

The carbonation is quite strong with lots of large bubbles. The liquid is a bit thick and creamy.

The smoked malt seems to be characteristic for this small brewery. And while it might suit a porter, it is not what I want from an English bitter. Besides, this beer is an unbalanced one; the smoke and the bitterness needs some more body, I think.
