This beer is aged on Bulleit Bourbon wood, hence the name. The beer was very dark brown, just shy of black, with the thick, creamy, rich head that is expected from a nitro beer.

You get the expected roasted and toasted scents, along with just the right amount of bourbon. None of the scents dominate and all play well together. The flavor is wonderful, a near perfect blend of porter flavors and bourbon. A lot of bourbon aged beers have the booze cover up the taste of the beer, not here.

The body was fairly typical for a nitro porter, smooth and easy to drink. Drinkability was excellent, the beer went down easy and left you wanting more. This beer is available on CO2 taps regularly and would be worth your time as well.
