330ml bottle from the brewery and drank at home. Forst Kronen Speciale is a light lager from Italy, 5.2% alcohol and typical, I believe, of the Italian beers I’ve been exposed to. I was expected a light gold, clear lager, crisp and similar to a Pilsner. Better than most Italian beers but the ending is lingers abit too long.

Standard straw yellow with white foam.
Smells spicy and peppery with sweet malt underneath.
Taste follows, with a bit of the sweet corn flavor coming through that is surprisingly pleasant. Quite full and rich for its strength. A step up from most other 'supermarket beers.'
Dry, not overly bitter aftertaste.
Really quite nice, and much better than their slightly weaker(4.8%) Forst Premium.

Very bitter beer. Very good. Alcohol taste and smell is dominating and that is the bad thing about this beer.

A: Golden filtered with small slow rising bubbles, topped with a huge rocky 5 fingered head that crunches down to 2 fingers slowly, but remains there for a while.

S: Oregano oil, hay, iron, light peppery spice, a hint of skunk.

T: Malt, hay, oregano, lightly sweet, corn.

M: Medium, slightly chewy body, little carbonation.

O: Found at Carrefour in Kunming, drank here March 11th, 2015. Pleasantly surprised by this one as it tastes more like a German Pilsner than the said style.

660ml bottle

A- Pale golden. A medium, large bubbled, white head that does not show much retention, except for a thin ring, but leaves very nice lacing

S- Sweet malts on the grainy side. Some lemon and grassy hints from the hops

T- Very much what the smell suggested. Sweet malts, with a dense and crisp grainy/bready feel. Then some light, nice bitter notes from the hops, with lemon and a faint herbal feel. There's also a faint hint of honey in the aftertaste

M- Quite dense in body for the style (almost a maibock you would say), with a distinct crisp feel that does not come just from carbonation, which is lively but not very high.

O- A very simple, highly drinkable, enjoyable lager. Nothing really worth praises though

This is as standard of an EPL as it gets. 33cl bottle, best before 08.01.12.

It pours a clear gold with a white head, nothing special, but not bad.

The smell is straight-up epl. Some paper, some bread, some grain, and a bit of tanginess.

The flavor is mostly benign malt and tanginess. There is a slight bit of orange but not much. Not much bitterness. There is a bit of plasticy taste too.

Ho-hum.

Saw this at one of the local independent liquor stores and figured, how often do I get to try beer from Italy?

Pouring into a glass results in a pale yellow ale with about two fingers of bubbly head. Head evaporated somewhat swiftly.

Smell was slightly sweet and grainy.

Immediate first taste has an infusion of sweetness like honey. Nothing else really beyond that. Flavor quickly fades. Maybe a little bit of grainy aftertaste in the cheeks.

Overall it is a smooth, straightforward, easy to drink Euro Lager.

hey, beer from Italy! yeah!!
best before 07/08/08. took a while getting here i guess.

clear golden color with low carbonation. thin white head which leaves more lacing than i would expect.

mostly sweet malt in the aroma which is understandable. hops may have faded somewhat and leave only a slight grassiness.

age may have left this one feeling a bit unbalanced. malt comes across heavy with not much left to restrain it. slightly slick and sweet.

seems like some varying reviews for this one so take this for what its worth. age will obviously take its toll.

What is the origin of this beer, German or Italian? It's brewed in Italy, but is written in the German language. I'll find out later, but for now, let's focus on the flavor of the beer:

Very pale color when poured, it looks like your average straw colored lager with a nice little crown of head at the top. Sweet grains is all what i could get out of the smell. The taste is light, with some odd sweet and sour grainy flavors. There's some processed hops somewhere to "balance" this out of whack taste, but I think I'll dump this out before my tongue files for divorce. This is one tough taste to take.
