Bottle from Ramstein Britshop. Dry bitterness from this beer, but everything else is right target for the style. Hazy amber body, small creamy head, malty aroma and taste.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2012. Picked up ages ago from a supermarket (while visiting a friend down South). The Shambles was a market that was built in the town of Potton in the 18th century, but has since been removed.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. A clear coppery-amber hue with high carbonation. Forms a small head of white foam that lasts for a minute or so before dissipating. Aroma of sweetish caramel malt with notes of dried fruit, sherry and stewed leaves.
Tastes of caramel malt with a mild bitter finish. Notes of toffee, sherry, dried fruit and stewed hops. Quite dry, with a touch of solvent/cardboard in the background. A restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with a somewhat insubstantial body. Slightly astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter stewed hops and malt.
A pretty average bitter. Rather dull; standard caramel malt and stewed hops with no aromatic hops to add interest. The sherry/cardboard hints lead me to suspect that this is getting on a bit, and possibly slightly oxidised. Oh well. Nothing fundamentally wrong with it, but it fails to hold your interest. No need to seek it out.
