A quick pour yields a lingering off-white head with pleasant lacings. The body is a reddish amber, almost the same color as the label on the bottle, and is virtually transparent.
The light nose is slightly sweet with a touch of hops. Nothing special here.
In contrast, the taste is very full and pleasant. The body of the experience is hoppy with sweet caramel notes and is culminated in a three-tone finish: first a bitter tap, then a sweet medicinal buzz, and finally a floral decrescendo.
The medium mouth feel provides an appropriate amount of substance to support the taste.
I quite enjoyed this beer and would certainly drink it again.

From the 12 fl oz. bottle. Sampled on October 18, 2013.
The color is medium to darker amber with a lingering off-white head and decent clarity. It looks like a brown should.
The aroma is full of sweet roasted malts and nuts. Hops are subtle. Also there is a very sweet feel to it.
The body is about medium and smooth.
The taste is also on the sweet and nutty side with a low to moderate bitterness pulling up the rear. These Waterfront beers are brewed by Shipyard exclusively for the Hannaford grocery store chain of Northern New England. This beer has all the characteristics of a brown ale but there is nothing remarkable about. But if you like browns - you should like it. And it is cheaper than others.
