A lighter grain bill of pilsner malts, wheat and oats gives Explorer its light straw, hazy, white appearance. Dry hopped with modern American hops, floral and citrus notes flood the nose, balancing out the lightness of the malts. The end result is a truly unique, refreshing take on a Hazy IPA, making Explorer Hazy White IPA the perfect beer to sail through Winter and Spring.

In a tulip glass from a bottle (not a can, I'm done with canned IPA's). Poured pale and hazy, moderate carbonation that lingered.
Nose (when cold) was wheat and what seemed to me like grape. Not citrus-y, and thankfully not a fruit bomb. Mouth feel was rich and full bodied but not obese. First taste was dry, just a brief touch of upfront bitterness before it became more wheatlike.
When warm that 'grape' became more like a hint of lemon rind which may account for the pepper or coriander notes that other reviewers have mentioned. I'm not that good at this...but this brew is very good at being what it is.

Lots of lemon and grassy notes, a little citrus. Malt and bitterness balance out the fruit element. Peppery, maybe a little coriander, as per what you'd expect from winter themed beer. If you asked me if I would get this again, I would say: maybe.

Look: Very light yellow with tons of haze. Looks like very pulpy lemonade. Lots of sediment.
Smell: Dank lemonade. Hints of cannabis and lemon.
Taste: Dank lemonade. Hints of cannabis, lemon and ice tea and smidge of floral and a nice pleasant bitterness.
Feel: Low-Medium body and very bubbly.
Overall: This beer was a real treat. From the first sniff I knew it was going to be great! If the idea of dank lemon beer sounds good to you you will love this beer! Top tier IPA and very unique.

From an undated 12 oz. bottle that I sampled on Jan 21, 2023.
It looks the part with its cloudy, hazy, pulpy light amber-olive oil color. A quick lasting fizzy head.
Aroma expresses wheat, bread, pine, lemon grass, citrus, and light spice.
Light-medium mouthfeel.
The taste becomes bready and spicy for the most part with a slight pine and lemongrass hop character thrown in. It is refreshing for what it is but I won't try it a second time.

Explorer Hazy White IPA
Shipyard Brewing Company
IPA White/Wheat
Liking the "white" side of the hazy. Crisp, grainy and very herbal. White pepper with coriander, piney, stone fruity hops and a subtle Belgian yeast kick. Funky grains go along way with big pepper and herbal complexity. Snappy, light and crisp feel.
