Pint JDW Crosse Keys City of London.
A: Bronze, clear, small head left a decent amount of lacing.
S: Grapefruit and diacetyl.
T: Grapefruit lots of wheaty bitterness.
M: Watery texture but it worked, not overly carbonated.
O: A proper session beer, had character and subtlety.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2014. Picked up a while back from a B&M store. The label is yellow and says IPA on it.
Poured into a straight pint glass. An orange-amber colour with faint haze and seriously intense carbonation. Forms a huge head of creamy off-white foam with excellent retention; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Leaves lacing like a Guinness. Aroma of mild caramel malt with hints of fruity ale yeast, grass/hay and faint stewed leaves. Pretty bland.
Tastes of mild caramel malt and weak hops, with a dry finish. Notes of subtle caramel, a twinge of biscuit, grass/hay, fruity ale yeast, harsh stewed leaves and a touch of cardboard in the background. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained, leafy bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and lightly tingly, with prickly carbonation and good body. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of stewed leaves, cardboard and ale yeast.
Meh - this would just about pass muster as a regular bitter and even then it's dull. Looks decent, with a nice head on it, but the aroma and flavour fall into the dish-water category. Watery malt and faint hops. Body is alright but can't save it. Generally lacking in character and certainly not a proper IPA. Give it a miss.

Brown 500ml bottle: BBD end of Dec 14, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 3rd Nov 13.
Golden body, with an orange hue: full off-white crown that produced some heavy lacing.
Hops rule the nose and taste: grassy and spicy notes from the aroma with a crisp, tangy bitterness in the mouth. There is an undercurrent of maltiness, but the hops keep pushing it down again.
OK in all aspects: not too hoppy for my delicate palate.
