Tasted this beer at the Black Bull pub nr. Whitechapel, East End London.
A: clear, dark copperish hue, with a thin white cap dissipating at a moderate pace, leaving extra-fine lacing.
S: lightly raisin-like fruity maltiness backed by very mild earthy hops. Due to its slightly higher-than-ideal serving temperature, the aroma is not very assertive and a bit off-balance.
T: again, raisin or sweet berry like malts on the palate, followed by abundant, semi-thick textured earthy hops, gradually turning spicy and dryish at the back of the tongue, with good lingering bitterness providing a solid backbone to the otherwise overaly moderate flavour upfront.
M&D: the mouthfeel is a little too smooth, without good input from natural carbonation. On balance, this beer has past its prime for sure, judging from its aroma and texture in particular. Might have to try it again when it's fresher.
