Tasted at the Black Bull, a freehouse nr. Whitechapel, East London, dedicated to Nethergate's beers.
A: pale amber hue, great clarity; a thin white head settles to a rimmed foam and low in carbonation.
S: faintly sour-sweet peary fruits, a focused yet understated flowery scent of hops, accompanied by a very softly sweet nougat and caramel note of malts. Simple.
T: very light grapefruity and slightly peary hops on top of floral flavour and mildly savoury maltiness; a more subtle nutty malt flavour at the back gradually turns dryish, tea-leafy, leaving a bitter-sweet and soothing finish.
M&D: great carbonation, soft and light-bodied Best Bitter. worth a try when one sees one, otherwise not so special to seek out.
