Bottle from brewery poured into wide tulip.
A: Pours a lightly hazy brownish red capped by a frothy and slightly rocky, thick white head of moderate retention and no real lacing.
S: Mostly Brett dust forward with some oak, and mild floral qualities.
T: Similar to nose, but maltier than imagined. There is a solid, if odd, dusty almost stale sort of caramel maltiness going on before a fairly dry, slightly leathery and resinous finish. There is some oak presence, as well as a tiny must component, alongside hints of ethanol.
M: This is BY FAR the thickest 5.8% beer I have ever tasted. Carbonation appears muted at first but lightly spreads across the tongue. A bit silky, but surprisingly thick.
O: Just a strange, yet nonetheless delightful, oddity. The colour, malt character, and body were completely unexpected, while the brett and oak present well. A delight to drink, but rather unique at the same time.
