Bière Paul (aka Paul Beer) is a 5% abv hoppy pale ale fermented with wild yeast that was brewed for the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) and named after the protagonist of a series of semi-autobiographical graphic novels by Montreal artist Michel Rabagliati. Paul appears as the central character on the Rabagliati-illustrated label, which features a stylized image of a typical old-time Quebec tavern.

Bottled: Dunham you beautiful bastards, I can finally say the date without having to be Sherlock Holmes digging through the sixers at the store in order to find a sole legible library-card-style date stamp! Thank you and I am also happy that this is likely a sign of your continued success.
It was bottled on April-6-2017.
A:
Pours a fairly hazy golden orange with a billowing white head that stays around for a good while. Good retention; clumpy sheets of lacing. (4.25)
S:
Alternately tart and earthy. Citrus, bretty funk, musty old barnwood, biscuity malt. (4)
T:
Lemon zest and flowers with muddy, funky, earthy brett and crusty malt underneath. (4.25)
M:
Fairly light body with active carbonation and a fluffy feel. Very drinkable. (4)
O:
This is a tasty, drinkable, approachable brett beer that is generally solid and perfect for a hot day.
It's a refreshing, simple beer in a nice bottle (with a motherfucking date!!!). It is lovely in the glass, nice head. The aroma is predominately funky brett with some neon fruity notes that pop out. As it warms this funk comes through a little more and I liked it (the aroma) less but it was still nice. The flavor is similarly fruity/rotting wood with a little hop and some crusty malt. It is very drinkable and a good summer beer. I feel like it is even better when thinking that it is a random one-off. Either way, I'll pick it up again if I see it. (4.25)
