Brasserie Dunham 'Double Cyclope' @ 8.6% , served from a 341 ml bottle purchased for $5.50
A-pour is a light gold from the bottle to a slight hazy gold in the glass with a small white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-more malt than hops (Citra , Ekuanot , El Dorado , Mosaic , Amarillo)
T-bit dissapointing , no wow factor
MF-ok carbonation , full bodied
Ov-was expecting more

This is okay, but I expected a lot more.
No date on the bottle, so no idea how old it is.

A:
Pours a glowing golden orange with three fingers of puffy off-white head that descends to a film. Good retention; speckled lacing. (4)
S:
Rich, oily, bright, resinous citrus twang with increased alcohol as it warms. (4)
T:
Smooth, big malt bread character propping up a unified citric and alcohol character reminiscing of grapefruit essence or something. (4)
M:
Medium-plus body with medium carbonation, a lacquer-like hint of booze and a resinous finish. (3.75)
O:
This is a big, oily, hop-laden beer.
It is mighty nice looking in the glass. Fairly cloudy unfortunately but with nice head retention. The aroma is incredibly citrusy and floral. Lots of grapefruit, orange and lemon zest. The aroma is more along the lines of the oil in citrus skin. Aromatic, bitter, oily. There is a strong malt center and a little alcohol heat that verges on too much for me. All in all though, a good beer that is really promising when you realize it is the product of all the (fairly solid) experimentation with the Cyclops series. I'd have it again and check out any other iterations of this one. Maybe a touch lower ABV would be nice, as that was the main thing that kept me from liking it as much as I could have. (4)
