I've hesitated a lot before buying this beer. Two or three visits to the store. For one I've been pretty broke (it's $8.15+tx+deposit) and second of all I still haven't been very impressed with any harvest ales (I've only had Quebec ones). But then, I thought of the 9 bucks I shelled out for a particularly bad tasting draft Heineken at Lion d'Or and it put everything back into perspective.
Guy at the store said it was very good and he'd buy it again. So here goes. Hope my few weeks of hesitation haven't turned this into something completely undrinkable...
Nice looking bottle.
A- Slightly reddish, deep brown. Fluffy beige head. Thick lacing kind of looks like a world map.
S- Damn. I don't really like this smell. That peanut butter jelly. Sweet grape with some nuttiness.
Not much to smell here.
T- A bit to watery. The smell with an added woody slightly artificial hop bitterness.
M- High carbonation. A bit sticky. Thin feel which is harder to notice because of the nice carbonation.
D- Okay. But I don't like the taste. One bottle is plenty, especially for the price.
I do not recommend this. It's actually pretty much what I thought this would be. Low flavor, not clean, but drinkable. I'm kind of pissed.
Still don't get the point of harvest ales if the hops don't really shine through.
Maybe it was better on delivery day.

Pours a medium amber color with a thin but long lasting head. The nose is very distinct but hard to place - peanut butter is pretty close.
The flavor is similarly buttery, with some malt sweetness and hop bitterness vying for attention in the background. The mouthfeel is thin and dominated by an agressive carbonation.
