Thanks Hoppypocket! 2010 500ml

Appearance. Pours a thick, murky rusty-brown with 3+ fingers of very light tan head that lasts and lasts.

Smell. Citrus hops, caramel, booze, a little almond and dark fruits.

Taste. Grassy hops, light fruits ...grapes, strawberries, apples, and some cardboard.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body, lowish carbonation.

Overall. I probably shouldn't have hung on to this one so long. The booze wasn't really there at all, but maybe all the hops would have been nicer fresh?

poured a very dark burgandy/red colour. tons of foamy light/white tan head with good retention and lacing.

smell was quite nice - sweet/fruity, berries, bit of malt.

taste is slight fruity, mixed with alcohol. also a very very slight smoke/burnt feel to the aftertaste which was also quite bitter/boozy. not the best balance but still okay (some sips were nice, others not as much.)

though it was good overall, it definitely needs some improvements to fit the style better.

Bottle: Poured a medium burgundy color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of green hops and sweet malt notes is interesting. Taste is also more hops oriented then I had expected with quite a lot of green hops notes and some sweet malt. I could see that hops were already fading though still dominant. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Well brewed thought I prefer my BW English style with less hops presence.
