Corked 750ml bottle poured into a Goose Island tulip glass. From the bottle, "July 2013 bottle release."
A: Pours two fingers of thick sudsy bone colored head. Body is a hazy reddish brown with a persistent cap of head and foamy lacing.
S: On the nose musty farmhouse followed by juicy raspberries. Some tart white wine, tart yogurt, and cheesy tang in the middle. Dry barrel in the finish.
T: Acidic green apples, not much berry left though it does pop out a bit. Tangy fruit yogurt in the middle leading into brown chocolate malts and a bit of cheese.
Mf: Prickly mouthfeel with a bit of pucker. Sticks to your teeth and finishes dry.
Overall: Has aged nicely though the fruit has begun to fade. Starting to taste more like a refreshing Flanders Red. Nice acidity up front with complimentary fruit and brett funk. Looking forward to Crabtree's other sour projects.

Extra'd by MarkyMOD... thanks man! Never heard of this brewery, but this brew sounds darn tasty. The apperance is reddish purple with some clarity, thick white head which retains a nice velvety layer and leaves a touch of lacing. The aroma is freshly picked raspberries with waves of fresh ripe fruity sweetness as well as a nice tart bite. Finish has some earthy notes as well as a bit of grain which makes for a nice counterbalance to the ripe berries. The taste is much like the nose, full of ripe raspberries. The taste starts bright and fruity and is followed by significant notes of acid. The acid brings some tartness to the palate which is pleasantly tart, but not super sour. Mouthfeel is light, crisp, and effervescent. Overall, this is an impressive brew. Nice balance, great feature of raspberries and a good amount of tartness. Would definitely recommend this!

Courtesy of jdiddy via jedwards. Pours the color of cider with a hazy, loose, cream-colored head. Nose expresses tart raspberries, as well as a light salty/briny quality. Taste consistent with nose - pleasantly acidic with some toasted oak notes. Mouthfeel is light and lively with a dry finish. Overall, I have to say I really enjoyed this beer very much. Not overly wild per se, but really quite good. Hopefully this will be brewed again.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Released 7/2013.
Pours a murky brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour and tart with malt and raspberry aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour raspberry and pepper flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer with a pepper-like presence that is odd.
