I had this beer on-tap in a snifter at the 2014 WABL Belgianfest in Seattle. It was also labeled "Cherry Frog" at the Issaquah Brewhouse booth.
Appearance: totally black; thick, attractive head of dark foam with great retention. Love it!
Smell: yeasty and Belgian-ey aroma with a nice roastiness and a little coffee. There's some banana in there, but no cherries to be found.
Taste: tart, with that Belgian banana flavor; a bit of ashy roastiness. Decent, but it doesn't come together perfectly, and there's not much in the way of cherry flavor.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good level of carbonation and creaminess. I like it.
Overall: this beer just didn't seem to come together. It's not bad at all, but I also wouldn't call it a great success. It also seemed to lack the advertised cherries, which is a drawback in my book.
