Thanks to my parents for bringing this back from seattle.
Presentation: 12 oz bottle poured into a pint.
Appearance: Pours with a big rocky white head which takes a while to dissipate. Follow that is a rocky white lacing that clings to the glass. Cloudy and light amber in color.
Smell: Big floral hops, followed firm malty back bone.
Taste & Mouthfeel: The taste is quite different then the smell. There isn't much presence of hops in the flavor only in the dryness. This beer has dry finnish. There is a bit of citrus & pine in the hops, but this beer is dominated by a malty backbone. Malts taste cereal in this case. Dryness is a bit overwhelming for this style of beer. Every-once in a while there is is this odd chemical taste of plastic that I've only tasted in home-brews brewed in a bucket.
Drinkability: If this were my home-brew I'd be proud of it. Great to support a local brewery but this a slightly flawed pale ale. Not enough floral tastes from the hops, bitterness and dryness comes close to DIPA statis and the focus is way too much on the malt.

Poured tall brown bottle into a pint glass. Hazy honey colored with a thin head that left a bit of lacing
It had a strange smell that I was not expecting in an APA. I didn't get malt up front but rather a vanilla and brown sugar aroma. I didn't get any citrus from the hops.
The taste was not the sweetness I got from the aroma. It was rather dry and bitter, which I did expect from an APA. There was none of the malt backbone I was expecting, but that's not necessarily bad.
The mouthfeel was very clean at first. It became more heavy as the bear warmed. I would only want to drink this beer cold.
I would not have more than a couple of these if I was buying them myself. If someone served these at a party and it was all they had, I'd drink 'em up.

Appearance This poured a clear, orangish-brown in color with a modest head. The promise of a big malt backbone loomed large at the Appearance.
Smell The rich malts and yeast were complimented by a nice hop aroma and maybe a hint of scotch. Its an unusual bouquet for a PacNW APA but much appreciated.
Taste The malts are rich and very bitter at the taste. Its almost like the yeast flavor that you find in an English Brown. The hopping is noticeable but very much in the background, which is fine by me for an APA with such a big malt body.
Mouthfeel This is a solid medium-bodied with some light carbonation and a nice, malty bitterness.
Drinkability This had such a big malt body that it was almost off-style, but I really enjoyed sending it down the pipe.
