A real bitter, as opposed to an amber trying to talk with a cockney accent. Clear golden with strong carbonation and abundant suds. Malts are relatively restrained in favor of wide, flat bittering. No particular aroma steps forth.
A clean, working man's ale. Not prolific, but a smart choice to team with some fish'n'chips.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a light copper color with just less than an inch of off-white head that dissipated quickly leaving very good lacing.
A neutral aroma greets the nose. A nicely balanced malt scent mixed with a skilled touch of hops. The flavors are not a surprise after the scent. A well made beer that coats the tongue, this brew leaves a pleasant aftertaste that lingers but doesn't cling.
The body is nicely full without being heavy. Drinkability is very good, I can easily imagine Andy Capp having this brew as he watches the match on the telly at the local. Overall, a beer worth some effort to try if you happen to live in, or be visiting, the PNW.
