Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear yellow with about 1/4 inch of dense white head that had low retention and OK lacing.

The aroma was mostly grain, with a touch of malt sweetness and a trace of gentle hopping. The flavors were equally good, balanced grain and malt with just enough of a tickle of hops to notice.

The body was good for the style, full, even and smooth. Drinkability is very good, a couple pints went down quick and easy. This is the kind of beer you take a growler of when you go tubing, or to have as your lawnmower beer instead of the major brands.

Overall, a very nice beer. Worth trying a pint (or several) of if you find yourself in our area.

Can a 3.5% ABV helles lager satisfy a craft beer enthusiast? Sure. This one did. Del Rio displays visual polish in clear golden yellow with strong carbonation sustaining a film of white head. It offers a light grainy aroma and taste with a modest wash of sweetness. Yes, it's somewhat dilute. But that's by design, and given that design, Del Rio is not bad. The aroma suggests 7-Up with some sweet-citrus design. The taste gives a nod to popular commercial brands.

Obviously, you wouldn't look here for excitement. But for simple refreshment value Del Rio no less than sufficient.
