A clear, dark, and slightly reddish brown color, Watou has a deep malt aroma with a hint of dark fruit. Very strong caramel taste with a brown sugar alcohol are the predominant flavors. A little fig and all spice are thrown in there. It has a creamy yet syrupy mouthfeel, if that's possible. I'm not quite sure I liked it because it was a bit distracting. There is virtually no hop bitterness in this beer at all.

This is a very sweet beer. Being a sugarholic I didn't mind a bit. This is probably the first beer I've experienced that I would consider a dessert beer or definitely something to have after meal or an aperitif.

Served in 12oz fluted pilsener glass. The beer poured a clear medium brown color with 1/2 inch of tan head that medium retention and good lacing.

The aroma was malty-sweet with a hint of spicyness at the end. The flavors were very similar, with perhaps a touch of fruitiness that wasn't apparent in the scent.

The body was smooth across the tongue and had just a hint of stickyness. Drinkability was good, but I think I'd move on after a couple. Overall a decent beer, worth a shot if you see it.
