look: 3.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4
Appearance: 1/4 inch head that goes quick, high carbonation, dark brown in color, clear

Smell: big fresh rye bread and light smoke

Taste: light rye at the beginning, charcoal, toasted malt, and light smoke in the body, big rye and light bittering hops at the end

Mouthfeel: sweet with a bitter backbone—bitterness shows a bit more at the end, dry, moderate-high carbonation, light bodied

Overall: A nice rye-heavy beer. Wish the smoke was a bit stronger, but the rye alone will make me get this one again. I will get this again, but I am a bigger fan of the smell than the taste.

The liquid is brown and light shines through easily. Modest starting head but it leaves a nice blanket of lace on the glass after each sip.

It has a porter-like aroma, light burnt elements and a touch cocoa. Interestingly, I detect some olives.

Thin bodied with a high level of carbonation. Lots of burnt (black patent) malt flavor. Some pepper in the swallow. Dry, short lived aftertaste. Smoky.

Light fizzy head, 1/2 finger lacing, dark brown light ruby color.

Nose smoke, almost campfire, little spicy and fruity rye, syrupy, caramel, molasses, charcoal and hint of powdered chocolate.

Taste syrupy, spicy fruity rye, smoke with a light campfire charcoal taste, molasses, syrupy, light bitterness, fruity. finish is juicy light watery, little rye and smoke, with hints of spicy hops.

Mouth med bod, syrupy, lighter carb.

Overall not bad, a bit too messy IMO, too syrupy, the rye and smoke are OK at first but get a bit too pounding when they continue to add up.
