This West Coast IPA is the second installment of our EXP Series in collaboration with Yakima Chief Hops. In these collaborations we experiment with new hop varietals and new brewing methods to push the edge of what is possible with beer. The star of the show for the Spring Runoff IPA is the use of HBC 586. This new Hop from Yakima Chief Hops bring floral notes as well as flavors of guava and mango.

Malt: 2-Row, Pilsner, Wheat Malt
Hops: HBC 586, Simcoe Cryo, Citra Cryo, Idaho 7 Cryo

16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku. poured a bright, clean, clear light gold color with 1/2 inch of white head that had decent retention and no lacing. Very Pilsnerish looking.

Hop forward aroma with just a light grain scent. Similar on the tongue, with the hops showing brighter.

The body was light, crisp, clean, and had a dry finish. Drinkability was very good, I could crush a few of these. Overall, a nice brew, certainly worth trying if you see it.
