these guys seem to be getting popular, and with beer like this, its no surprise why. really well executed stuff here, its an unfiltered west coast ipa, a neat concept that seems novel now but is actually kind of old school dry hoppy beer with some bitterness, its cleaner than a lot of hazy ones, and i like the bite it brings on the back end, kind of the best of both worlds here, and not overdone to the point of being green or vegetal, well refined and professional. very pale in color, yellow and bright, lightly cloudy, no richer malts here at all, and it has a sort of rawness to it that i like, maybe wheaty, pils malt, its simple and it leaves a lot of room for the hops to do their thing. its more about body than flavor from the grain for me, this is silky and just big enough feeling for all the flavor, and quite dry overall. the hops hit lemongrass and honeydew notes, sort of resinous but not in a piney way, almost candied vibes in the middle, i get clover honey, white peach, good gin, and guava notes as it warms, neat hop profile overall here, dynamic and interesting, this stands out from the crowd for me. i like it being as juicy and alive as it is, but then also finishing with some peppy bitterness, true to the west coast style. a nice crossover beer here, cleanly fermented, well carbonated, and really drinkable. bravo!
