It's interesting that this is called a West coast IPA on the label but it looks hazy and has a lot of the NEIPA characteristics. Maybe it's one of those "modern" IPAs we hear about. It pours an odd pale shade of grayish yellow with plenty of foam in the Hopleaf goblet.
Rather sharp on the tongue. Maybe a bit oniony, but I wouldn't quite say the cat has been around. Finish is bitter and mineral, with that odd aftertaste of something in the vegetable family. Still, there are some pleasant mango and orange flavors. It's not very likeable overall, so I hope they had fun with the Stoup collaboration. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Dated 03/07/22.

16oz can (dated 3/7/22) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a fully murky medium yellow color with an inch of white head that had good retention and light lacing.
The aroma started off with the expected low grain/froot hops of the style, but a certain amount of cat pee and pine were also apparent.
Same on the tongue, very low malt, frooty fruits, a touch of pine, and solid dose of cat pee.
The body was the typical light of the style, had a certain amount of coarseness, and a finish that was semi-sweet, and had a lingering cat pee effect.
Drinkability was a bit rough due to the cat pee.
overall, if yo like the cat pee beers, this is your jam. One-and-done for me.
