Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. No date on the can, but I picked it up not too long ago at the brewery.
Appearance: pale straw hue with maybe just a hint of haze and a finger of frothy eggshell foam atop, which leaves a nice lace on the glass.
Smell: a slightly astringent, grainy malt combines with a grassy, earthy hop character to create something that is not entirely smooth. It’s not bad, necessarily, but not clean like a pilsner ought to be.
Taste: malt is a little bit sweet; it has a bit of that graininess, and even a little corniness, but the sweetnes is a good balance. Hops are herbal and a bit grassy; definitely more of a Czech than a German pilsner, and although it’s still not super clean, it’s not too bad.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess.
Overall: a decent hoppy pilsner, if not my favorite one out there.
