The head on my Chocolate Espresso Stout was the color of espresso froth and was of such dense compactness and creamy texture that I was at first unsure as to whether the beer was served on nitro. It turns out that Snipes serves it on draught. Even so, the mouthfeel was smooth and plump and splayed lace formed everywhere. The espresso quality is evident in the smell and taste with a late complimentary appearance by chocolate malts. The overall character is bold, but the elements integrate nicely and nothing is overplayed. A strong showing and a great dessert beer.
