I had a Snipes Hefe at the brewpub. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a shiny gold/copper color and is slightly hazy. A creamy tight white head caps the beer, and shows better than average resiliency.
The smell is faint and non-descript. Maybe a few citrus notes, but nothing remarkable
Taste is that of an average American wheat ale. There is a bit of a citrus flavor. It pretty much tastes like a Widmer or Pyramid hefe.
Mouthfeel is fairly crisp with a slight gluten cloying feel to it.
A drinkable American wheat ale. Not offensive but nothing special. Like a Widmer. That's about the best thing to be said for it. "Like a Widmer."

A simple beer except for the unusually rotund body, which tumbles across the tongue like a skilled acrobat. Such plumpness is inconsistent with the hefeweizen or wheat beer style, but I found it welcome.
The hazed yellow body is stylistically routine. But I couldnt pick out an aroma anywhere. Since this is an American wheat beer brewed with 60% wheat malts, no Bavarian expressions emerge and the flavor accents an edgy bitterness with clean closure. The tremendous body has me curious as to the yeast strain.
