another strong and citrus driven ipa from these guys, a new one from what i gather here, i was lucky enough to have a friend share a crowler with me. tasty beer too, a little richer on the malts than the exodus ipa in the can, more of a copper to amber malt base in it, although i didnt find the beer sweet at all, just nice and balanced. grapefruit peel for sure, this one is way more bitter than the exodus, probably pushing 100 on the ibu scale, a little pine and a little resin on the finish, bold, but less grain flavored than it looks like it should be. fuller body, soapy thick fluffy feel, bulding constantly each sip, but still with excellent carbonation. there is a nutty characteristic to the low end, like leaves in the fall or something, kind of seasonal and autumnal, interesting in that regard, mild pine and grapefruit pith in the finish. looks like a ton of hoppy stuff from these guys, i have liked them all, but between this one, the exodus, and the chamomile ipa, this is the one i would least like to drink again in the future. still great, but the least distinctive i think...

10 ounce pour in a shaker glass.
Looks copper and amber with crystal clarity. Light trickles of carbonation. Healthy lace and a light pale white head. 4.25
Berry fruitiness, sweet vanilla and breadiness and a light orange and grapefruit. 4
Like the nose, a substantial malty sweetness to accompany berry fruit and citrus. Zesty grapefruit mid-palate. Orange sweetness on the finish. 4
Despite the sweetness, there's plenty of zest and bitterness. And it doesn't drink too heavily. Lingers drily. 4.25
Tasty. Been neglecting Canteen and I think it's time to start visiting more frequently again.
