Pours black with a mocha head. Aroma is roasty, earthy, bitter: coffee, dark bakers chocolate, tobacco,. Flavor is dark, roasty, and bitter. Bakers chocolate, tobacco, coffee, char. Medium bodied mouthfeel, some activity. Overall, for those like me who enjoy their stouts dark and roasty this one is for you. It trades away any real sweetness for a wallop of bitterness and char. One of the best stouts to come out of an Albuquerque brewery, IMO. This beer is begging for some aging in some nice bourbon barrels. Would probably also do well if made into an oatmeal stout.
