Had this in the fridge for like 6 months. Time to make room.
A: Poured a nice deep red color with a finger of white head. Spotty lacing.
S: Really smells like a homebrew. I mean that in a good way though.Mostly malt but a very faint hint of hops. A nice spiciness in the finish from what I assume is the yeast.
T: Very malty. Some muted hops in the back and that hint of spice.
M: Good moutfeel for a red ale. Slightly sticky. Well carbonated.
D: I don't even remember where I got this from. A decent red but a fairly boring style IMO. I think this was cheap so that is a plus. Decent.

Appearance- It has a dark amber body with a red hue. The head was average but the lace was impressive.
Smell- Subtle fruity and hoppy but not much really to it.
Taste- A little bit fruity, hoppy and bread like.
Mouthfeel- Medium but a little sticky.
Drinkability- This is a very average beer.

Reddish tinge to this bottled beer. Good amount of off-white lace and moderate head.Sticky then drying and sweet aftertaste. It is hoppy more than malty, not a bad red. Malty aroma, doesn't whiff of c-hop. Nothing offensive with about anything you would eat. And I would think sessionable ABV. Tongue tingling carbonation.

Poured a murky deep amber hue with a one and a half finger creamy tan head. There was very good retention and very good sticky lacing.
The smell featured a toasted grain, some metallic notes and a good flowery hop.
The taste consisted of a toasted and biscuity malt with a secondary flowery hop. Good residual toastiness and nuttiness.
The mouthfeel was of average fullness for the style, with a dry finish.
Overall a tasy and robust red ale.

Pours a nice amber red. Fluffy head with excellent retention, and lacing. Smell is of piney hops, and carmel malts. Body is medium, and carbionated. Taste is lightly hopped through out. Good balance of malt, with hints of pine in the finish. A bit of an after taste, but other than that, not bad at all.

Poured from the bottle into a standard pint glass a clear rich bronze with a tight pillowy craterous one finger head that left a nice full ring of lace as it settled slowly.Milder aromas but there is a nice light citric hop presence underneath a lightly roasted caramel sweet malt profile, quite toasty and buttery up front with note of caramel a leafy,herbal-like hop note really comes thru and lingers in the finish.A tad thin but it adds a bit to the drinkability,I would say this beer lives up to its name it has a nice hop profile but lacks a little in other areas still not a bad amber.

Muted medium copper color. Smallish capping of off-white firmly set foam. Keeps a good collar and laces out in a few spots and strings.
Smell is well-rounded of soft fruity dullness of dried dates and has some slight nuts mixing in with a earthy wood tuned dryness.
Taste is a bit sharp and yeasty in first feel with some evident powdery-like woody earthen tones. Somewhat tinnish and very light on the malt fruityness that was carrying out in the aroma. Ghostly roasted notes appear late and float about. Woody hop dryness sinks in well however with a favorable earthed easyness.
Feel is a bit thin of medium with some offness of chalky dustings, drying astringencies, and a dull sharpness of lightly scratchy texture. Stays fairly mellow however as it sits, but is somewhat diluted in body and taste. The dryness does tend to remain on the palate with that certain woody hoppishness that has little inklings of malt bearing the styles overall character
An OK amber. The dryness sticks to the style well, but could use a bit more body and lasting, fuller flavors. Otherwise this would be favorably easier to enjoy. Not bad though.

A deep, dark red color. Has a nice head that goes away pretty quickly, but leaves a nice snowy lace on the side of the glass. Very clear, though hard to see through due to the darkness of the color. Carbonation seems minimal.
Nice malty smell, with a slight hint of hops. Slight fruity-pungent smell.
Very unusual but not at all unpleasant flavor. Definitely tastes like an amber. The so-called hops in the captain's name are very minimal; only a slight hoppy accent in the aftertaste. The malt has the bitterness consistent with most reds. Slight bitter and sweet make a good balance.
The beer is slightly flat, which is not bad. Has a cask feel, but a little more pop in the carbonation might have added some kick to the beer. Due to the strength of the malt, I don't know that I could drink many of these in a row, but it is a nice up-kick for those who love a toasted malty flavor.
