Pours a nice burgundy color with a two-finger head into my glass that fades quickly.

Piney, grassy hops greet the nose followed by biscuity malt. Impressive aromas!

Piney hops combine with buttery malt to create a highly desirable hodgepodge of flavors. I'm definitely enjoying it.

Lingering piney hops and buttery malt at the back. Very tasty. Nothing out of place.

I like this example. It's highly drinkable and I think they should dry hop it for even more hoppiness!

12oz bottle out of the fridge poured into a pint glass. not too familar with this brewery, but i had a little of theirs at the buffalo brewfest. recieved this bottle from a friend who just got a sixer from a local consumers.

pours a really deep dark chestnut red/ brown color with a nice one finger of off white head. nice creamy retention, some decent lace.

hops are mostly noticeable, very perfumey and almost chemical/ paint thinner like. strange... kind of off putting. didnt notice it too much at first, but it gets real noticeable, real quick. mostly hops, a little caramel malt.

that strange paint thinner like taste is definatly noticeable in the taste too. very strange. other than that, it tastes like a decent well hopped red ale with lots of citrus and a little pine. a decent balance of caramel and slightly buttery malt. has some woody hop qualities. lots of sharp bitterness. but its hard to get over that odd taste.

good mouthfeel, hops real soak the palate in bitterness. medium bodied. maybe just a touch too much carb.

if it wasnt for that strange chemical, almost rotted vegetable taste, i would really like this beer and could prolly session this easily. im not sure on the freshness of this bottle, and i couldnt find much info on it, but i assume its gotta be somewhat new.

according to the bottle, this is brewed by the paper city brewing company in holyoke, MA for land mark brewing of syracuse, NY.
