Served from the tap in a small nonic glass at the brewpub.
Man, with State and Third and whatnot, I almost felt like I was back in my alma mater town of West Lafayette. Anyway, this stuff pours a clear midnight amber topped by a finger of dirty white foam. The nose comprises caramel, light toffee, light bread, a pinch of candied orange peel, and the general sense of grassy greens. The taste brings in more of the same, not even a hint, really, of the purported Belgian yeast. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a liquid feel. Overall, a decent, solid-enough brown, something easily drinkable, though somewhat difficult to perfectly classify.

Sampled today at the brewpub, review from notes.
Light brown color, thin receding head. Inoffensive dark malt aroma. Toasted malt taste that didn't linger too long on the palate. Style was more of a Dark Mild than Belgian anything. There was no spice, no sweetness, etc. Very mellow and easy drinking, as if cask conditioned. Average but not bad.
