Served from the tap in a small nonic glass at the brewpub.
Sure, I wasn't a fan of the regular brown, but I just had to see what a barreling would do to it. You never know, right? Anyway, this stuff pours a clear sunset amber-russet topped by a finger of dirty white foam. The nose comprises wet wood, light dried caramel, light candied orange peel, a hint of booze, and the vague sense of tartness in the distance. The taste closes said distance, bringing the vinegar-like sourness up front, followed by some booze-soaked wood, then a bit of hoppy rye bread. It's a combination that physically hurts to drink, even in this small of portion size. The body is a lithe medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a liquid feel. Overall, this does not work in the slightest. 'Nuff said.
