Ordered a mixed case from the Milestone brewery, this was described as the Brewery's flagship ale.
The beer poured a dark amber, slightly mirky with absolutely no head, I really could not believe it some tiny suds but thats it.
The main theme that dominates both the nose and the taste of this beer is nuttiness, along with grain and a biscuit aftertaste. I cannot emphasise this enough, I thought Orkney Dark Island had a nutty taste but this is far more dominant.
The body is very light, which is surprising for a darkish English bitter.
After my initial tasting of Crusader, this was a slight disapointment. Worth a taste, just because it is quite a unique beer, but I had no desire for another at the time; maybe it is an aquired taste.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
