A malty, nutty brown ale. The use of ale yeast gives a fruity flavour and enhances the dark malts.

Broomsfield Brown is a fairly clear brown ale with a small off-white head.
The aroma is mild with notes of chocolate malt and light earthy hops.
I get a light flavour with some classic English fruit and bread esters. There is mild hopping but the whole lacks depth. It also seems a little sweet and underattenuated.
Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Fine.
This is a decent beer but it is very laid back and I want something more full on.

Tawny brown to reddish with a creamy, off-tan head. Toasted caramelly malts, light herbal notes and a bit of citrus. Moderately creamy on the tongue with notes of toasted caramel, and light sweetness. Herbal bitterness turns almost citrusy in the finish. Not bad, definitely better than the pale ale.
