On-draught @ Cargo/Gantley's Pub near Queenstown, New Zealand.
$14.50 NZD per 500ml pint. Ouch.
Citrusy and juicy with a soft cushiony mouthfeel. Citra is well showcased, bringing orange juice flavour and Mandarin. No grapefruit or lime from the Taiheke, but I do get a slight oily hop flavour.
Nectaron lends a kiss of pineapple, bolsters the passionfruit, and lends vague juicy fruitiness.
Malt bill is pale primarily with probably some wheat in there too...clean drinking and fairly neutral, letting the hops dominate.
A balanced and pleasant brew with no off flavours. Hop profile is nice but the brew doesn't seem to realize the full potential of its hop varietals, leaning mostly on Citra instead of its arguably more interesting Kiwi hop varietals.
I'd get it again if available at a decent price when packaged... there's a lot to like here.
