The fourth beer tasted by half-pint at the recent Catford Beerfest., 08/06/06. Dispensed by a handpump.
A: clear, pale amber/dark golden colour, coming with a fluffy thin beer head; low carbonation.
S: light, well-balanced profile, with Goldigs-like, slightly orange-citric note, on top of a more flowery, fragrant hop variety and a rather mild pale malts; slightly honeyish-aromatic and subtle sweetness in the background.
T: semi-sweet and sour-ish malty upfront, constantly accompanied by a coarse-textured grainy hint; after a short while, a wave of bittering hops expands all over the palate, moving on to a rather balanced but still slightly hop-accentuated palate, while lots of aroma linger in the mouth.
M&D: refreshing yet also soft on the mouthfeel, this fresh blond bitter has sufficient hop input and a pleasant fruitiness to make it a proper session bitter in summer~~
