Attractive brew with clear amber color and fine-grained foam in the Saxo glass. Pleasant lemony aroma. Fruity and sharp. This is really, really orange peel tasting with lemon finish. Tastes murky and then there is the dry and austere aftertaste. This has a lot in common with the hazy IAs. And then it gets bitter and hot. Overall this is way over-hopped and not so much fun. This is the beer they should call "Snorkel Lips." From the 16 oz can purchased at O'shea Brewing. Dated 9/22/25.

Pours clear amber with a nice white soapy head
Earthy aromas, lime, lemon notes
Taste is decidedly citrus rind and a wee bit hot
Mouthfeel is pretty astringent, well carbonated and a bitter finish
Pretty much defines what a WCIPA is all about. Nice palate cleanser

Flavors trend to piney, grassy, herbal, and earthy with hints of lemon and lime citrus. Not much in the way of grapefruit, but bitter rind is available in spades. A resinous palate coating nature comes in towards the middle and back of each swallow. A nice wet hop IPA that embraces its WC pedigree in every way.

16 oz can into a nonic pint glass
A: Yellow-tan appearance, 1/2 in sudsy head never fully recedes…lacing sticks to where it does.
M: Medium bodied, oily, viscous complexion. Plenty of carbonation to keep the palate clean.
N: Citrusy, dank, rindy. Not as piny as some of the other Kern hop-concentrates.
T: Citrus rind, bitter hops, juicy for a west coast style. Some touches of lemon pepper and ripe berries mid sip. Booze is apparent for the ABV. Medium finish.
Pretty damn tasty. Some of these wet hop renditions can be a little much, this one is nicely balanced.

Pours a cloudy straw with some orange hues and a big white foamy head. Nose is an overripe grapefruit, lemon zest, earthy and piney hop with a subtle bitter note. Taste follows suit, overwhelmingly citrus forward and very balanced. Allowing a variety of hop flavors to shine through. Feel is full but crisp. Overall, very good.

Semi murky golden pour with a 3 finger fluffy looking white head. There's decent retention, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The aroma is dominated by the hops. I get some pine in it. I also get a faint sweet aroma.
Starts off tropical flavor, but then the pine kicks in more on the back. The pine flavor, from the hops does linger in my palate.
The body is quite full, and somewhat juicy. There's a slight bitterness that lingers in my throat.
This is delicious and I'm am honored that I got to try it.

Can poured into a Kern River Brewing Co pint glass
A: Pours slightly hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Spicy, resinous, herbal, citrus zest, soft underlying tropical and stone fruit, bready malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
T: Resinous green herbal notes lead, spicy pine, citrus, grapefruit and orange, tropical and stone fruit, mango, pineapple, papaya, apricot, peach, and a hint of underripe strawberry, bread malt, and just a touch of caramel sweetness.
M: A bit on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Like standing out in the hop yard with your tongue out. Pure fresh hop goodness.

a generous gift from a new friend, apparently this one is pretty hyped up in the town where its made, and i see why, its classic, old enough school that it seems timeless to me, no pretension, no frills, just real good fresh hop ipa here. just a little malt to this, a golden to pale rust color, light haze, high creamy white head with great sudsy texture and long retention. smells very fresh, maybe mosaic forward but im not sure the hops, i get some grapefruit in the nose, a little pine and dank weed too, suggesting more of a simcoe thing, but this is all speculation. good balance, almost like a pale in the nose, the grain seems as fresh as the hops do. the flavor is excellent, light nuttiness from the malt supporting but fruity wet hops, fresh pineapple, orange, grapefruit, and green grape to me, juicy and oily and slick, and also somewhat more bitter than a lot of these are, which i appreciate in this. good balance in the flavor too, enough from the malt, good structure here without any residual sweetness, and a very clean ferment, dry but still a little oily at the end. it warms up well but i dont hardly let it, a juniper and even gin aspect later on, high resin pine character, and juicy citrus. really good, this is the best time of year to be a beer drinker, so pumped on the wet hop stuff right now!

Nuce example of a wet hop ipa. Lots of booming flavors that bring some depth. Wish the aroma popped a little more and the body was a little leaner but thats just picking nits at this point. Tasty brew for the season
Golden clear liquid capped with a frothy snow white head.
Nose is bright and bitter. A mix of grapefruit pith and fresh hay and some green tea.
Taste follows a similar trajectory with a little more of grapefruit zest and a fuller tea flavor. Also get some more earthy/herbal character and a feint berry, almost strawberry, note in the back end.
Mouth feel is pretty soft and full for the style.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy yellow color with generous-sized white head that slowly faded. a good looking IPA.
Smell: Moderate tropical fruit aromas, floral aromas and some very faint piney hop aromas. The nose is sweet and inviting.
Taste: I get stone fruit notes, a bit of floral notes and mild citrus notes in the flavor profile. The beer has a fairly strong bitter hop backbone that dries the beer out nicely. The beer finishes fairly dry a result of the bitter hop notes which aren't overdone.
Mouth-feel: Fairly light-bodied with a fairly generous level of carbonation.
Overall: A good wet hop IPA. I like that the beer has a solid hop bitterness to counter the fruity and floral hop notes.

Just beautiful in every way - and also bountiful like Claudia Cardinale picking daisies. It’s just large and in charge like Charles Laughton behind the camera on “Night of the Hunter.” Ok, Raul. Ok, contain yourself… Kern is my daddy and I’m ok with that.

Growler into a tulip glass. Pours vibrant orange copper with finger of medium density white head that left sporadic lacing pattern. Nose is DANK and earthy, with very subtle citrus undertones. Taste matches the nose well, there's no denying this is a wet hop ale! Finishes clean with just a hint of astringency. Mouthfeel has medium body, carbonation a bit low, but likely due to the age of the growler. I loved their 2015 wet hop ale, which was not available for growler fills, was my favorite wet hop ale last year. This one is nipping at it's heels, and the added capacity of the expansion enabling growler fills is a very nice!
