On-draught @ Kern River Brewing.
A bit boozy, reducing drinkability. Hop profile isn't unique or special, particularly in comparison to even widespread superior expressions of the style (e.g. Lagunitas Sucks).
Emphasizes vague fruity hop flavours, none of which are vivid or distinct. Depth of flavour is limited. Not horribly intricate. Hints at a ripe fruit quality, but no constituent hop flavours can be picked out. Murky and nebulous.
Medium to full-bodied. Smooth. Wet. Unrefreshing.
Drinkability is limited by its overt alcohol warmth. A shrug of an imperial IPA that will get you drunk but is ultimately rather forgettable in a very oversaturated style. If this is in any way comparable to Kern River's pedestaled Citra, then I'm glad I haven't bothered to wait in line at a release.
