On draft. I’m a big fan of both KRBC and of imperial IPAs; however, this one was over the top for me. The ripe, fruity and floral hops were sticky and delicious, but the prominent alcohol, along with the cranked up bready malt and syrupy sweetness that were used to (unsuccessfully) cover the alcohol, made the palate too messy and heavy handed.

Poured from a 22-ounce bottle with no date stamp, slightly orangish yellow under a solid 1-inch thick white head which lingers and leaves spotty lace. Aroma is floral with citrusy orange blossoms and some fusil alcohol notes. Flavor is malty and crackery with a dank/herbal essence and citrus fruits. Full body and moderate carbonation. Finishes bitter, dry and boozy,

Looks like a sunset on steroids - glows a beautiful, golden orange.
Smells ultra ripe, and hella sticky like grandpa’s glaucoma medicine.
Taste like said sunset, but also that it was filtered through Dale Earnhardt jr’s NASCAR - it kind of has that Kern River, oh so familiar rocket fuel tingle to it.
Feels like Martha Hunt baking a cake - nice texture and pretty creamy.
Overall, it is a nice, smooth beer. but whatever that ‘rocket fuel’ hop that Kern uses is a bit over the top for me.
