Picked up a growler of this from the last Citra release. Poured into a pint glass.
Copper-tan appearance, a bit murky but not as cloudy-hazy as many of its contemporaries. Sticky lacing everywhere.
Subdues aromas. Suggestions of fresh cut grass and orange peel, backed by caramelly sweetness.
Unique flavor profile for the style, almost like a hazy, British IPA. Biscuity but light in complexion. Subtle notes of apple and orange. Caramelly malts are balanced by floral bitterness, ushering in a quick, clean finish.
This is probably the most unique hoppy beer from Kern so far. You can tell this was not brewed by Kyle (original brewer). More refreshing and easy drinking than layered and nuanced.
